THE PRODUCT
Binu Binu uses 100% natural plant botantical ingredients and essential oils, including a base of "boricha" in all of the soaps, the Korean roasted barley tea which has a place in the household as important as water. All products are made by hand in small batches using the cold process method which retains the skin benefitting properties of natural oils,  Binu Binu soaps are fragrance-free and do not contain palm oils, synthetic detergents, artificial colorants, parabens, sulfates, or animal products.  The Binu Binu signature bars are each hand-cut to form a monolithic cleansing block, adding a sculptural element to the bath.

THE MATERIAL
The hibiscus is the beloved national flower of South Korea.  Like the flower which possesses beauty with no scent, this soap is free of fragrance and essential oils, making it ideal to cleanse the face or for those with sensitive skin. Hibiscus infusion imparts softening properties to the skin, while Rose Clay gently helps to absorb impurities.

THE MAKER
Binu Binu is a collection of modern soaps inspired by the ritual of the Korean public bath, a place free of vanity and inhibition and where generations are brought together in the simple act of cleansing. The formulas are based on the idea of daily ritual, intergenerational bonding, and the infamous Korean scrub treatment "Seshin," a vigorous, pragmatic and extremely effective exfoliating treatment that can be found at the baths. Other points of inspiration come from strong female role models in Korean culture - like the Haenyeo sea women of Jeju Island, elderly female divers who dive tank-free for the catch of the day to support their families, and the modern-day shaman known as Mudang, female healers who specialize in matters of the mind, body and soul.
