THE MATERIAL
Hasami natural porcelain is an unique mixture of raw materials. It has a beautiful natural touch and a striking earthy tone. One of the characteristics of this porcelain are the color variations of each piece. This is the result of the extreme heat reaction of the glaze during the firing in the kiln. Every piece is one-of-a-kind and has the character and uniqueness of hand-made quality porcelain.

THE MAKER
Hasami, Nagasaki is one of the foremost pottery districts in Japan. Porcelain was first made in the area almost 400 years ago, during the Edo Period, and was not only distributed all over Japan but also exported to Europe through the port of Nagasaki. Hasami Porcelain was born under the direction of Takuhiro Shinomoto.
